Eigentlich wollte ich heute wandern. Aus zwei Gründen scheidet das aus. Mein Fuß ist erst wieder mittelprächtig am Damm und der Weg wird schon ohne das Hinzufügen von Wasser als matschig beschrieben. Es hat aber die ganze Nacht geregnet. Also Karte raus und mal gucken…

Heraus kommt Rock of Cashel, als absolutes Muss deklariert, kann man getrost weglassen.

Mein Ziel ist und bleibt Kinsale, das als Geheimtipp gehandelt wurde und die kulinarische Hauptstadt Irlands sein soll. Bei der Ankunft frage ich mich, wieviele Parkplätze ein Geheimtipp braucht. Kinsale hat auf jeden Fall zu wenig. Ich brauche ewig, um irgendwo eine Lücke zu finden. Es ist rappeldicke voll hier. Aber irgendwie trotzdem schön und deswegen harre ich aus. Noch toller als die ganzen Essensläden sind die Bücherläden!

Ich würd gern über Nacht bleiben und mach mich mal auf die Suche nach einem Zimmer.

Das lasse ich dann auch schnell wieder und fahre raus zum Campingplatz.

Hm, also das Thema Camping scheint in Irland anders zu sein als in den Ländern davor. Wie oft wird hier saubergemacht? Duschen 1,- Euro… Na klar. Und dass man hier nirgendwo mit Karte zahlen kann, hat bestimmt auch nichts mit Steuern zu tun… Das kann ja lustig werden. Die Küche bleibt bei Regen kalt und den Wetterbericht will ich auch nicht glauben. Es soll bis Mittwoch durchregnen. Läuft nicht ganz so rund hier.

It’s a long way to Tipperary

Acutally I wanted to go hiking today. Out of two reasons I won’t. My foot is not 100% yet and the description of the way is muddy without adding any water. It has rained the whole night. So let’s get the map and have a look…

The result is Rock of Cashel, pronounced as an absolutely must have seen, not worth it at all.

My target was and still is Kinsale, which was a insiders‘ tip and it should be the culinary capital of Ireland. When I arrive, I am aksing myself how many parking an insiders‘ tipp needs. Kinsale definitely has not enough. It takes eternally to find a space. It is absolutely packed here. But somehow really nice and that’s why I stay. Even better than all the foodshops are the bookshops! I would love to stay overnight and have a look for a room. Yeah, that is finished soon and I go to the campsite.

Well the theme camping seems to be much different than in other countries. How many times are the facilities cleaned? Shower 1,- Euro… of course. And it has got probably nothing to do with tax, that you can’t pay with card anywhere… That seems to get funny here. The kitchen will stay cold in the rain and I don’t want to believe the weather forecast. It should rain till wednesday. Doesn’t really go well here.
