Mein Zwischenziel ist Llangollen. „ll“ in der Wortmitte ist übrigens ausgesprochen wie „th“. Ich bummel erst durch den Ort

und dann wandere ich zu den Horseshoe Falls (Hufeisen-Fall). Auch aus dem BBC-Buch. Ein Knaller.

Zurück geht es zwischen Kanal und dem alles beherrschenden Fluss Dee. Wunderschön.

Ja, richtig… Hier wird das Boot vom Pferd gezogen.

Ein paar Sachen müsste ich noch einkaufen, ich habe Glück und finde diesen Laden:

Diesen „Eccles cake“ kann ich jetzt nicht unbedingt empfehlen. Wieviele Rosinen passen in ein Stück Kuchen? Und als Camper denkt man auch unweigerlich an Hase…

Endstation und mein Platz fürs Wochenende ist in der Nähe von Bala, am See Llyn Tegid. Ich bin hier in Snowdonia, dem Nationalpark um den höchsten Berg von Wales, Snowdon.

Under the sign of the horse

My stopover is Llangollen. „ll“ in the middle of the word is pronounced like „th“. First I ramble around the village and afterwards I walk to the Horseshoe Falls. From the BBC-book, too. Just great.

My way back leads between the canal and the all dominating river Dee. Absolutely gorgeous.

Right, the boat is pulled by the horse.

I can’t really recommend this „Eccle cake“ here. How many raisins fit into a cake? And as a camper you unavoidably think of rabbits first…

Target for today and the weekend is Bala at the lake Llyn Tegid. I am here in Snowdonia, the Nationalpark around the highest mountain of Wales, Snowdon.
