So und weil das gestern ganz schön viel war, muss ich heute erstmal Pause machen. Buch raus, Füße hoch.

Nachmittags fahr ich an meinen Lieblingsstrand und kauf mir ein Eis. Das reicht dann aber auch wieder an Bewegung.

Hier und in England gibt es übrigens massenhaft Minzeis. Also jenseits des handgemachten. Cornetto Minze, Magnum Minze, usw. Deutschland, hörst du das? Minzeis bitte! Mit dunkler Schokolade natürlich.

Heute mal was zum Autofahren auf Guernsey. Totaler Schwachsinn. Also auf keinen Fall das Auto mitnehmen. Man kann hier welche mieten, was aber auch keinen Sinn macht. Alle Mietwagen haben ein großes gelbes H hinten aufgeklebt. Die Einheimischen sagen, es steht für Horror. Die maximal erlaubte Geschwindigkeit hier sind 35 m/h. Und durch die meisten Straßen passt nur ein Auto und nicht zwei. Demzufolge wird wahrscheinlich nirgendwo der Rückwärtsgang so oft benutzt wie hier. Die armen Porsche, Bantley und Konsorten verkommen hier völlig. Die armen Dinger.

Just because it was quite much yesterday, I have a break today. Get my book and put my feet up.

In the afternoon I cycle to my favourite beach and buy myself a mint icecream. But that is enough movement then for today. Here and in England there are lots of mint icecreams. Apart from the handmade ones there is Cornetto mint, Magnum mint, and so on. Germany, are you listening? Mint ice, please. With dark chocolate of course.

Today I tell you something about driving on Guernsey. Bollocks. Never ever bring your car here. You can hire one, but that doesn’t make sense either. All rental cars have a big sticker with an „H“ on their back. The locals say it means „horror“. The maximum speed on the island is 35m/h. And there fits just one car in most of the roads, not two. So I guess there is no other place, where the revers gear is more used than here. The poor Porsche, Bantleys and friends gone to rack totally. Poor little things.
