Ich fahre nach Tintagel. Ein kleines Dorf, in dem aber richtig was los ist und mehrere Reisebusse täglich kommen. Hier hat King Arthur gewirkt und dem wird natürlich vom Pub bis zum Souveniershop Rechnung getragen. Ich bin hier, weil es einer der schönsten Abschnitte des SWCP sein soll. Also, Arthur Schnickschnack weglassen, Auto abstellen und rein in die Wanderschuhe.

Was irgendwann kommen musste… Augen zu und durch.

Rocket Valley:

Von hier mache ich mich landeinwärts auf Richtung Wasserfall. Allerdings verlaufe ich mich unterwegs und frage ein Pärchen mit Hund, der gerade dem Fluss entspringt, nach dem Weg. Sie meinen, es sei kompliziert, aber wenn sie mich ein Stück mitnehmen, ist es einfach zu finden. Ich müsste mir allerdings den Rücksitz mit dem nassen Hund teilen. Ich höre eine Stimme sagen „That’s absolutely fine!“ Da ich niemanden außer uns sehe, muss ich das wohl gewesen sein. Also mein neues Ich. Ich fahre also tatsächlich mit Hund ins nächste Dorf.

Zum Wasserfall komme ich, allerdings gehe ich nicht rein, weil ich den Eintritt nicht bezahle. Das beschert mir aber widerrum das Kennenlernen von Mandy und ihren beiden Kindern sowie eine Einladung, mit meinem Bus bei ihnen zu übernachten. Allerdings haben die Ferien begonnen und somit habe ich bereits für zwei Tage gebucht.

Wenn ich schon mal in einem Dorf mit Pub bin, ist heute mein Ausgehtag. Ich treffe Pete, der mir Gesellschaft leistet. Als ich zurück komme, brennt bei meinem T1-Nachbar noch Licht. Wir schlürfen ein Glas Rotwein während ich seinen Bus bestaune. Sieht man ja nicht alle Tage.

On an on

I go to Tintagel. A little village, which is famous for King Arthur and a couple of busses stop every day. You’ll find everything about King Arthur here. From the Pub to the souveniershop. I am here, because it should be one of the nicest parts of the SWCP. So skip the Arthur frills, park the bus and jump into the hiking boots.

That must have happened sometimes… Take a deep breath and get to it!

Rocket Valley:

From here I walk inland direction waterfall. Unfortunately I lose my way and I ask a couple with a dog, which just jumpes out off the river, for the right way. They said it’s complicated and it would be easier, if they lift me up a bit, but I must share the backseat with the wet dog. I hear a voice saying „That’s absolutely fine!“ Because I can’t see anybody except us, it must have been me. My new me. So I really get to the next village beside a wet dog.

I get to the waterfall, but don’t go inside because I won’t pay the entrance. That’s the reason why I get to know Mandy and her kids. They invite me to stay in their backgarden for free. The holidays have already started and that’s why I have already booked the next two nights.

When I am in a village with a pub, it’s my outgoing day today. I meet Pete, who keeps my company. When I come back, my T1-neighbour has still lights on. We have a glass of redwine while I am gazing his bus. Something you don’t see every day.
