Für diese Reise habe ich exakt drei Worte: Es war grausam.

Die Lage: Viel zu weit weg vom Strand. Auch die Costa Calma hat außer 4 Luftmatratzenbuden mit überlagerter Sonnencreme nichts zu bieten. Ganz neue Erfahrung für mich: Fuerteventura hat auch unschöne Ecken.

Warum bin ich überhaupt hier gelandet? Weil es die AIDA-Reise zusammen mit diesem Hotel im Paket gab und ich dachte, mit Fuerte kann man nichts falsch machen. Nun haben wir gelernt: Doch, kann man, denn…

Mit Abstand das schlimmste war die Hellhörigkeit und das Publikum. Es handelt sich um ein R2-Hotel mit 4 Sternen, ich versteh es nicht. Dass spanische Hotels nicht über die beste Schalldämmung verfügen, ist bekannt, aber wenn du hören kannst, wenn dein Nachbar den Klodeckel hochklappt, geht das eindeutig zu weit. Ich hatte nie meine Ruhe. Nicht beim Essen, nicht in der Anlage, nicht einmal in meinem Zimmer.

Das Essen: Liebloses Kantinenessen. Unreifes Obst wird aus Großmarktkartons aufs Buffet gelegt, der Rest kommt aus der Dose. Die eine Hälfte des Geschirrs ist dreckig, die andere enthält immer Spülwasserreste. Mahlzeit.

Das Personal ist total überlastet, teilweise stand am Abend ein einziger Mann in der Bar. Dafür gab es 20 Gärtner. Alle sind genervt, auch die unterbesetzte Rezeption. Selbst meine Beschwerde über das Zimmer blieb ohne Reaktion. Das einzig positive war der täglich stattfindende Strechingkurs.

Hotels in dieser Größenordnung sind jetzt ein für alle mal raus. Ich hatte einmal Glück mit dem H10 auf Lanzarote, aber wie sich herausstellt, muss das eine Ausnahme gewesen sein.

Ergo: Nein zu diesem Hotel und nein zu Costa Calma.

Conclusion Fuerteventura, Costa Calma, R2 Rio Calma

I have exactly three words for this trip: It was cruel.

The location: Far too far from the beach. The Costa Calma also has nothing to offer except for 4 air mattress stalls with old sunscreen. Completely new experience for me: Fuerteventura also has ugly corners.

Why did I even end up here? Because the AIDA voyage was bundled with this hotel and I thought you can’t go wrong with Fuerte. Now we have learned: Yes, you can, because…

By far the worst was the clairaudience and the people. It’s a 4 star R2 hotel, I don’t understand. It’s a well-known fact that Spanish hotels don’t have the best soundproofing, but if you can hear your neighbor flipping up the toilet seat, that’s definitely going too far. I never had my peace. Not while eating, not in the garden, not even in my room.

The food: Loveless canteen food. Unripe fruit is placed on the buffet from wholesale market boxes, the rest comes from cans. One half of the dishes is dirty, the other half always contains residues of washing-up water. Enjoy!

The staff is totally overwhelmed, sometimes there was only one man in the bar in the evening. There were 20 gardeners. Everyone is annoyed, including the understaffed reception. Even my complaint about the room went unanswered. The only positive thing was the daily stretching course.

I won’t choose hotels of this magnitude again. I had luck once with the H10 in Lanzarote but as it turns out that must have been an exception.

Ergo: No to this hotel and no to Costa Calma.
