Eigentlich hatte ich vor, heute nach Sark zu fahren. Allerdings sagt mir mein zur Routine gewordener morgendlicher Wetter-check, dass es entgegen der eigentlichen Vorhersage keinen Sonnenschein geben wird. Auch das gehört zum Inselleben. Also ändere ich meinen Plan und bummel durch St. Peter Port.

(Ist dir schon mal aufgefallen, dass das „Ich bin in 5 Minuten fertig“ einer Frau genau dasselbe ist wie das „Ich bin in 5 Minuten zu Hause“ eines Mannes?)

Und das hier fand ich besonders toll. Fahrrad als Hinweisschild hatten wir ja schon oft, aber mit Brot? Sehr schön!

Damit ihr einen Eindruck von der Insel bekommt, sind hier mal ein paar schöne Häuser, die ich gestern beim Wandern fotografiert habe.

Und das hier hab ich euch noch gar nicht erzählt. Es gibt hier überall diese Kisten, in die die Einheimischen ihr Obst und Gemüse legen. Der Preis steht dran und du wirfst das Geld passend in die Box. So einfach.

Und das Gute daran ist, du brauchst auch nicht groß zu überlegen, was es zu essen gibt. Eben einfach das, was heute in der Kiste liegt.

Island life

Originally my plan was to go to Sark today. But my every morning weather check, which turned into a routine during the time, says there won’t be sunshine on Sark, although it was forecasted. But that’s part of island life, too. So I change my plans and ramble around St. Peter Port.

And that one here I think is really cool. I mean, we had bikes used as signs earlier, but with real bread? Very witty!

So that you get a better impression of the island here are a few pictures of pretty houses, which I have taken during the last days.

And I haven’t told you anything about this so far: There are boxes around the island, in which the locals put fruits and veggies. The price is shown and you just put the coins into a little money box. That simple. And the good thing about that is, you don’t have to think aboubt what you are going to have for dinner. It’ll be just what’s in the box.
